Television's Extreme Makeover: Home Edition came to Wisconsin the first week of October 2006.

The Matt Koepke family is well known throughout Dundee, Wisconsin for their commitment to the community.

Although his own home was falling into disrepair, Matt figured, at age 41, he'd have plenty of time to reneovate the house once the mill project was done. Tragically,, in April, Matt was diagnosed with a rare, aggressive form of metastatic melanoma. Time ran out. Matt Koepke died on August 21, 2006.

On Friday, September 29th, 2006, Extreme Makeover: Home Edition's Ty Pennington came calling to inform Christine Koepke and her children (daughters Jayna and Johanna, and sons Derek and Mitchell) that they were being whisked away to San Diego while their home would undergo an amazing seven-day transformation.
